Bah Humbug

Bah Humbug

It’s Christmas time again and that means winter and that means snow, well at least here in New England it does. To all of you that may be reading this from warmer climes… screw you I’m incredibly jealous. 🙂

I titled this post Bah humbug but in all actuality I would love to find a bit of Christmas spirit. I love Christmas as everyone should, its the winter that I don’t like. I think that may be why I’m having a hard time finding my jolly.

It’s not that I’m in a bad mood, far from it actually. To be honest I’ve been in a pretty good mood lately, hell if it wasn’t for it being winter I might even be ecstatic!

But on to business, the fourth After the Storm book is coming along nicely. Its a bit disorganized at the moment since I’m trying something new. Normally, when I would get stuck I would let it slow down my progress a lot. Now I’m trying to keep inching forward by switching over to different scenes that I know I want to write instead of trying to write in a straight line. So far it’s working nicely.

I’ve also started the next Strand book. I do wish the first book would pick up on sales though. I honestly believe it is the best written story I’ve finished so far and would love for more people to get to read it.

Arisia the Boston sci fi convention is coming around again and I’m still not sure if I’m attending this year. Last year I threw After the Storm the party which went over quite nicely but didn’t garner many sales. I was hoping to get on some of the panels this year as a way to justify the cost of going but it seems they had a lot of people vying for the panels that I wanted to be on. So sadly i will not be on any of the panels this year at Arisia, which is bad but also may be good since I was a nervous wreck about being up in front of people while sitting on a panel.

I am trying to figure out the whole Arisia thing. I do hate to miss out on an opportunity to get out there and mingle with some folks and I’ve always had a great time at Arisia. I just have to figure out a way to justify the cost.

OH I also spoke today with the guy doing my audiobook version of Strand and I’m happy to say I should have some samples to listen too within the next few days which will be a very very cool Christmas present for me. I can’t wait til its done and ready to go. I’m very very excited about that project.

All in all things are pretty good except for it being winter. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and happy holidays and I hope you all have that wonderful Christmas spirit that makes this holiday so wonderful.

Take care all and its back to work with me
